Red Flood Alert Issued for Satna District as Water Levels Rise in Five Tehsils

Continuous rain and runoff from catchment areas have pushed river levels up, prompting a red flood alert for Satna, Rampur Baghelan, Kotar, Raghuraj Nagar and Nagod.
The district administration of Satna has declared a red alert for flooding after persistent rains and excess runoff from upstream catchment zones caused river levels to surge. The warning covers the low‑lying and river‑bank areas of Satna and its neighbouring tehsils.
Officials identified five tehsils—Satna, Rampur Baghelan, Kotar, Raghuraj Nagar and Nagod—as being most vulnerable to inundation. Residents in villages situated near riverbanks have been advised to stay alert as water is expected to breach existing embankments.
The administration has appealed to the public to avoid unnecessary travel to the affected zones, relocate to safer locations if possible, and cooperate with rescue teams. Emergency shelters have been readied, and local authorities are monitoring the situation round the clock.
