The film ‘Ramayana’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, has been awarded a U (universal) certificate by the Indian certification board, with its runtime and official synopsis now public.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming project ‘Ramayana’ with a U‑certificate, indicating the film is suitable for audiences of all ages. The board’s decision also makes public the film’s total running time, as listed in the certification documents.
The official synopsis released alongside the certification describes ‘Ramayana’ as a contemporary retelling of the classic Indian epic, focusing on its timeless themes and characters while adapting them for modern viewers. No further plot details were disclosed in the brief.
Industry observers note that a U‑certificate can broaden the film’s market reach, allowing families and younger viewers to attend screenings without age restrictions. The certification clears a key regulatory hurdle ahead of the film’s scheduled release later this year.
