Ramayana show ticket prices hit record high at Mumbai's premium theatre

Mid‑Day reports that the ticket price for the Ramayana stage production at a leading premium theatre in Mumbai has risen sharply, reaching a level described as "whopping" by local observers. The surge comes amid heightened interest in the classic epic, which draws audiences from across the city.

The theatre, known for its upscale amenities and premium seating, has not disclosed the exact amount of the price hike, but industry insiders say it marks one of the highest price points for a single‑show ticket in the city’s entertainment market. Organisers attribute the increase to the production's elaborate sets, star‑studded cast, and limited show dates.

Ticket buyers are reportedly facing a steep financial outlay to secure seats, prompting discussions on accessibility and the pricing strategy for cultural events in metropolitan areas. The theatre management has stated that the pricing reflects the production's high production values and the cost of delivering a world‑class experience.
