On its fourth day of release, Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer 2’ has emerged as the highest‑grossing Tamil film of 2026 worldwide, according to box‑office data.
The latest installment of the Rajinikanth franchise, "Jailer 2," recorded a record‑breaking box‑office performance on its fourth day, propelling it to the top of the 2026 worldwide Tamil‑film earnings chart. Industry trackers confirmed that the cumulative collection up to Day 4 surpassed all other Tamil releases of the year, making it the highest‑grossing Tamil title globally for 2026.
Analysts attribute the swift climb to the superstar's enduring fan base, aggressive multi‑city marketing, and strong opening in both domestic and overseas markets, including key diaspora hubs in the Middle East, Southeast Asia and North America. The film’s wide release across more than 3,000 screens further amplified its reach.
The achievement places "Jailer 2" ahead of the previous year’s top‑earner and sets a new benchmark for Tamil cinema’s commercial potential. Distributors expect the momentum to continue as the film moves into its second weekend, with additional territories slated for release.
While exact revenue figures remain under wraps, the milestone underscores Rajinikanth’s continued box‑office draw and the growing international appetite for South Indian productions.
