The Tamil blockbuster Jailer 2, starring Rajinikanth, has earned over ₹200 crore worldwide within its first two days of release, marking it as one of the fastest grossing films of 2026.
Jailer 2, the latest Tamil action‑thriller starring superstar Rajinikanth, opened on 1 January 2026 and amassed a worldwide gross of more than ₹200 crore within just 48 hours of its release.
The film has become the fourth Tamil production of 2026 to achieve the ₹200 crore milestone, underscoring Rajinikanth’s enduring box‑office appeal.
While exact domestic figures are still being compiled, the overseas earnings alone have accounted for a significant portion of the total, with markets in the Middle East, Southeast Asia and the United States contributing heavily.
Industry analysts note that such a rapid accumulation of revenue is rare for a Tamil film, placing Jailer 2 among the fastest‑growing releases of the year.
The success has prompted distributors to secure additional prints and extend the theatrical run in several key markets.
