Under the National Horticulture Mission, farmers in Jhalawar district will get up to 40% financial assistance for purchasing solar dryer machines, capped at ₹3.5 lakh per unit.
The Rajasthan state agriculture department has announced that farmers in Jhalawar district will be eligible for a subsidy covering up to 40% of the cost of solar dryer machines, with the maximum grant limited to ₹3.5 lakh per unit. The assistance is provided under the National Horticulture Mission, a central government scheme aimed at improving post‑harvest management for horticultural produce.
Eligibility is restricted to registered horticulture growers who intend to use the equipment for drying fruits, vegetables or flowers. The subsidy amount will be calculated on the declared purchase price, and applicants must submit proof of purchase and relevant farm records to receive the grant.
By encouraging the adoption of solar drying technology, the programme seeks to reduce post‑harvest losses, lower dependence on conventional fuel, and increase the market value of perishable crops. Officials expect that the financial support will accelerate the shift toward renewable energy‑based processing in the region.
The subsidy disbursement is slated to begin in the upcoming financial quarter, with the state department coordinating with local extension officers to facilitate applications and verification processes.
