State police data shows a fall in reported rape, murder and robbery incidents, while cases under the NDPS Act rose by 35%.

Rajasthan's law‑enforcement agencies released crime statistics indicating a noticeable decline in reported rape, murder and robbery cases compared with the previous year. The reduction reflects ongoing police initiatives and community outreach programs aimed at curbing violent offences.

In contrast, the number of cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act rose sharply, registering a 35 percent increase over the same period. Officials attribute the surge to intensified drug‑seizure operations and heightened surveillance in border districts.

The data, compiled by the state's Crime Records Bureau and reported by The Times of India, underscores a mixed law‑and‑order picture: progress in curbing traditional violent crimes but a growing challenge from drug‑related offences.

State authorities have pledged to sustain the downward trend in violent crimes while allocating additional resources to combat drug trafficking and abuse.

The figures will form part of the upcoming annual crime report presented to the state government later this month.
