Rajasthan's Special Operation Group detained Rakesh Kumar Yadav of Banasur for obtaining a counterfeit FMGE certificate after paying ₹22 million, allegedly used to secure an internship and medical registration.

The Special Operation Group (SOG) of Rajasthan has arrested a Banasur resident, Rakesh Kumar Yadav, in connection with a scheme that produced a fake Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) certificate. According to police, Yadav paid an amount of ₹22 lakh to obtain the counterfeit document, which was then used to obtain an internship and to register as a medical practitioner.

Investigators say the forged certificate enabled the accused to bypass the standard eligibility checks required for medical internships and registration with the state medical council. The SOG launched the operation after receiving a tip-off about the illegal certificate‑making network operating in the region.

Yadav is currently in custody, and the case is being forwarded to the district magistrate for further legal action. Authorities have warned that similar fraudulent activities could jeopardise patient safety and undermine the credibility of medical qualifications.

The police have not disclosed any additional arrests or the identity of other individuals who may have benefited from the fake certificate. The investigation remains ongoing.
