The deadline for filing nominations for district council and first‑phase panchayat committee seats in Rajasthan is today, with submissions accepted until 3 PM.
Jaipur, Oct 13 – The filing window for candidates contesting the upcoming Rajasthan panchayat elections ends today. Voters will elect members to district councils and the first batch of panchayat committee seats, and aspirants must submit their nomination papers by 3 PM.
Election officials have set up nomination centres across the state, and the deadline applies uniformly to all districts. Candidates who miss the cut‑off will have to wait for the next election cycle.
The panchayat polls, scheduled for later this year, are seen as a key barometer of grassroots political sentiment in the state. Authorities have urged prospective candidates to ensure all required documents are in order to avoid rejections.
Election Commission representatives confirmed that the process is being monitored closely to maintain transparency and fairness. Voter awareness campaigns are also underway to inform citizens about the importance of local self‑government bodies.
