Rajasthan Municipal Elections: Second Phase Records 8.7 Million Votes in 40 New Bodies

In the second phase of Rajasthan's municipal elections, over 8.7 million voters cast their ballots across 147 local bodies, including 40 municipalities voting for the first time.
The second phase of Rajasthan municipal elections commenced today with voters heading to polling stations across 147 urban local bodies.
Among these, 40 municipalities are participating in elections for the first time since their recent creation or delimitation.
Election officials reported that more than 8.7 million eligible voters are eligible to cast their votes in this phase.
In the previous municipal election held earlier, the overall voter turnout stood at 67.93 percent, providing a benchmark for today's participation.
Authorities have deployed additional security personnel and arranged for smooth conduct of the poll, with results expected after counting concludes.
