The Anti-Corruption Bureau has opened an investigation into a Rajasthan IAS officer and his IPS wife after a media report claimed their family acquired 40 villas from a single builder over 2.5 years.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Rajasthan has launched a formal probe into a senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer and his spouse, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, following a Business Today report that alleged the couple's family bought 40 residential villas from a single construction firm over a span of two and a half years.

According to the media story, the properties were purchased from one developer, raising questions about possible preferential treatment or misuse of official influence. The report did not disclose the exact locations of the villas but highlighted the scale of the acquisitions as unusual for a public servant family.

In a brief statement, the ACB said it is examining the financial records and property documents of the officers to determine whether any violation of the Rajasthan Prevention of Corruption Act has occurred. The bureau has not disclosed the names of the officials, citing procedural norms, and the officers have not commented publicly.

The investigation comes amid heightened scrutiny of public officials' assets across India, with state anti-corruption agencies intensifying checks after several high‑profile cases in recent years.
