The Rajasthan High Court has set aside its earlier recommendation to take action against former SBI Bhiwadi branch manager Vivek Sharma, who uncovered a fake ₹51 lakh housing loan.

The Rajasthan High Court has overturned its prior recommendation to initiate disciplinary proceedings against former State Bank of India (SBI) manager Vivek Sharma. Sharma, who was posted at the Bhiwadi branch, had brought to light a fabricated housing loan worth ₹51 lakh, prompting a wider investigation into the bank's lending practices.

The court's order effectively clears Sharma of any pending administrative action, acknowledging his role in exposing the irregularity. While the High Court decision focuses on Sharma's case, the Anti‑Corruption Bureau (ACB) has simultaneously filed a separate bribery case against two senior bank officials alleged to have demanded money in connection with the same fraud.

Legal experts note that the cancellation underscores the judiciary's willingness to protect whistle‑blowers in financial misconduct cases, even as the broader probe into the loan scam continues.

The SBI Bhiwadi branch remains under scrutiny, and further inquiries are expected to determine the extent of the alleged corruption among senior staff.

No additional punitive measures against Sharma have been reported, and the High Court's ruling is seen as a significant relief for the former manager.
