The Rajasthan High Court has issued an interim stay on the selection process for 1,340 AYUSH officer contract positions slated for 2025, following a petition by Dr. Jyoti Jangid.

The Rajasthan High Court has placed an interim stay on the selection process for 1,340 contract posts under the AYUSH Officer Recruitment 2025 scheme. The stay was granted after a petition filed by Dr. Jyoti Jangid, who challenged the creation of a joint merit list for Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Unani doctors.

Dr. Jangid argued that merging the three streams into a single merit list would unfairly disadvantage candidates and violate the recruitment guidelines set by the state government. She requested a separate merit list for each discipline to ensure a transparent and equitable selection process.

The court’s order halts the recruitment drive until the dispute is resolved, affecting both the applicants who have already applied and the state’s plans to fill the positions. Officials have indicated that they will seek a clarification from the court on how to proceed.

The stay is expected to prompt a review of the recruitment framework and may lead to amendments in the selection criteria for future AYUSH officer appointments.
