The Rajasthan High Court has issued an interim order halting the collection of funds from Assistant Engineer Indraj related to alleged irregularities in development projects carried out in Balahera Gram Panchayat between 2014 and 2018.
In a recent judgment delivered from its Jaipur bench, the Rajasthan High Court imposed an interim stay on the financial recovery actions against Assistant Engineer Indraj. The order specifically blocks any further collection of monies pending a detailed review.
The dispute stems from alleged irregularities in development works undertaken in Balahera Gram Panchayat between 2014 and 2018. Authorities had begun recovering funds from the engineer without first completing a departmental inquiry into the claims.
The court observed that proceeding with recovery without a formal investigation violates procedural safeguards. Consequently, it directed that the recovery process be suspended until a proper departmental probe is concluded.
Legal experts note that the ruling may trigger a comprehensive audit of the projects in question and could set a precedent for similar cases where recovery actions are initiated prematurely.
