The Rajasthan Commercial Tax Department carried out a focused survey of eight commercial establishments in Jaipur, aiming to detect possible tax evasion and GST non‑compliance.
During the inspection, officials identified mismatches between declared sales and actual turnover, indicating under‑reporting of GST liabilities. As a result, cash, bank receipts and related documents worth ₹1.43 crore were seized and will be transferred to the state treasury.
Department officials said the action forms part of a larger state‑wide crackdown on tax fraud and that similar verification drives will be intensified across other districts. They have instructed the concerned businesses to file corrected GST returns within the prescribed timeframe.
No arrests were reported, and the seized amount is expected to bolster the state's fiscal resources while sending a clear message about strict compliance expectations.
