Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot inaugurated a ‘Run for Unity’ marathon in Rajasthan today, commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot flagged off a mass participation run titled “Run for Unity” on Saturday, marking the 152nd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The event, organized by the state government in collaboration with local NGOs, aims to promote communal harmony and encourage a healthy lifestyle among citizens.
The marathon route traverses key landmarks in the capital, beginning at the Secretariat and ending at the Sardar Patel Memorial. Participants, ranging from school children to senior citizens, received a brief address from the CM emphasizing Patel’s legacy of national integration.
Organisers expect thousands to take part, with provisions for free water stations and medical aid. The run is part of a broader series of activities planned throughout the year to honor Patel’s contributions to India’s unity.
Security and traffic management were coordinated by the Rajasthan Police, ensuring smooth flow on the streets. The event concluded with a cultural program showcasing folk performances from various regions of the state.
Authorities hope the initiative will inspire similar community-driven events across the country, reinforcing the spirit of togetherness that Patel championed.
