Rajasthan bans five packaged foods, suspends nine shop licences over adulteration

Under the ‘Shuddh Aahar – Milawat Par War’ drive, Rajasthan authorities have imposed a two‑month ban on five packaged food items deemed unsafe and suspended licences of nine shops and dairies.
Rajasthan’s food‑safety department launched a crackdown titled “Shuddh Aahar – Milawat Par War” after routine inspections flagged several packaged products as unsafe. The investigation concluded that five specific food items failed to meet the state’s purity standards, prompting officials to order a two‑month prohibition on their sale, distribution and display across the state.
The ban applies to all retail outlets, supermarkets and online platforms that stock the identified products. Authorities have also issued a notice to manufacturers to recall any remaining stock and to provide corrective action plans before the ban is lifted.
In parallel, licences of nine shops and dairies found selling the adulterated items have been suspended pending further inquiry. The enforcement team seized samples, recorded violations and warned the operators of possible permanent closure if non‑compliance persists.
