Police recovered nearly ₹5 crore of medicines from a dry well in Bhartpur, Rajasthan, seizing 274 cartons and taking 10 samples for testing.
Police in Bhartpur, Rajasthan, uncovered a stash of medicines worth approximately ₹5 crore hidden in a dry well. The operation, carried out by the state’s drug control department, seized 274 cartons of pharmaceutical products. Ten samples were collected for laboratory analysis to determine authenticity and safety.
The discovery came after routine inspections of the well, which had been dry for several months. Authorities suspect the drugs were illegally stored or smuggled, and an investigation is underway to trace the source and distribution network.
The seized medicines include a range of prescription drugs and over‑the‑counter items. The drug control department has announced that the findings will be reported to higher authorities, and a formal case may be filed under relevant drug laws.
