The India Meteorological Department has issued a rain and thunderstorm alert for ten states on October 3, including Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) released a weather advisory for October 3, warning of widespread rain and thunderstorms across ten states. The alert specifically highlights the capital region and Uttar Pradesh as areas likely to experience heavy showers and gusty winds.
Meteorologists anticipate that the system will move east‑to‑west during the afternoon, bringing intermittent downpours and lightning activity. Residents in the affected zones are urged to stay indoors, avoid travel on flooded roads, and secure loose objects that could be blown by strong gusts.
The IMD has advised local authorities to activate emergency response teams and to keep flood‑prone areas under close monitoring. Citizens are also reminded to follow updates on official channels and to heed any further instructions from disaster management agencies.
Authorities will continue to track the weather pattern throughout the day, and a revised outlook will be issued if conditions change significantly.
