Railways Provides Temporary Halt to 20 Train Pairs for Maher‑Vindhyachal Pilgrims During Navratri

Indian Railways has scheduled five‑minute stops for 20 pairs of trains serving Maher and Vindhyachal pilgrims, with 14 pairs halting at Maher station from 11‑22 October.
The Ministry of Railways announced a special arrangement for devotees traveling to the Maher and Vindhyachal shrines during the Sharda Navratri fair. A total of twenty train pairs have been instructed to make a brief five‑minute halt at designated stations to facilitate boarding and alighting of pilgrims.
At Maher railway station, fourteen of these train pairs will observe the temporary stop from 11 October through 22 October. The short pause is intended to ease crowd movement and ensure safety without causing major schedule disruptions.
Railway officials emphasized that the measure is a one‑time provision aligned with the peak pilgrimage period, and normal train operations will resume once the Navratri festivities conclude.
