The Railway Minister announced a series of new projects aimed at widening and modernising the rail infrastructure in Chhattisgarh, promising improved connectivity and economic growth.
New Delhi – In a press briefing today, the Railway Minister outlined a package of initiatives designed to broaden the railway network across Chhattisgarh. The plan includes laying additional tracks, upgrading existing lines, and constructing new stations in underserved districts.
The minister highlighted that the projects will be funded through a combination of central allocations and public‑private partnerships, aiming to accelerate freight movement and passenger services. Completion is targeted within the next five years, with phased roll‑outs beginning in the first quarter of the upcoming fiscal year.
State officials welcomed the announcement, noting that enhanced rail connectivity is expected to boost industrial corridors, agricultural supply chains, and tourism in the region. The ministry will soon release detailed project reports and invite bids from eligible contractors.
Stakeholders are being urged to align with environmental clearances and land acquisition norms to avoid delays. The Railway Ministry pledged regular monitoring to ensure timely execution and transparent use of funds.
