Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is confronting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing a grassroots defiance strategy as the nation heads toward the next general election.
Rahul Gandhi, president of the Indian National Congress, has launched a direct challenge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, positioning his campaign around grassroots activism.
The Congress chief has been touring several regions, meeting local volunteers and urging citizens to resist what he describes as top‑down governance, seeking to translate street‑level dissent into electoral support.
Analysts note that the approach marks a shift from conventional high‑profile rallies, aiming to mobilise ordinary voters ahead of the scheduled national elections, though the ultimate impact remains uncertain.
The contest unfolds against Modi's strong electoral record, making Gandhi's grassroots focus a critical test for the opposition.
