The Election Commission of Punjab has issued the final SIR list, deleting the names of 13.6 lakh voters across the state.
The Election Commission of Punjab today published the final Special Index of Removal (SIR) list, confirming that the names of 13.60 lakh registered voters have been struck off the electoral roll.
The list, released through official channels and reported by Amar Ujala from Jalandhar, covers all districts of Punjab and reflects the latest verification exercise undertaken ahead of upcoming elections.
Authorities indicated that the deletions result from reasons such as death, relocation, or duplicate entries, as per standard electoral roll maintenance procedures. Affected voters are advised to approach their respective Booth Level Officers to verify their status and, if necessary, submit fresh applications for inclusion.
The release comes as political parties prepare for the next electoral cycle, and the commission has urged citizens to ensure their details are up‑to‑date to avoid disenfranchisement.
