The father of a Punjab youth, identified as Jhota, urged young people to avoid drugs after his son's death, with an autopsy at PGIMER confirming the cause before today’s cremation.

A young man from Punjab, known locally as Jhota, was found dead and an autopsy was performed at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh. The medical examination confirmed that drug consumption was the primary factor leading to his demise.

Following the autopsy, Jhota's father addressed a gathering of local youth, urging them unequivocally to stay away from any form of narcotics. He emphasized that the tragic loss of his son could have been avoided had he not taken drugs, and appealed for collective responsibility to curb substance abuse in the community.

The family proceeded with the cremation ceremony later in the day, adhering to customary rites. Officials from PGIMER were present to oversee the process and to ensure that all procedural protocols were followed.

Punjab has witnessed a surge in drug-related incidents over recent years, prompting health authorities to intensify awareness campaigns. This incident underscores the ongoing challenge of drug abuse among young people in the region and the need for sustained preventive measures.
