Punjab Police Bust Illegal Arms Network, Seize 10 Guns and Heroin

Punjab police announced the arrest of three individuals suspected of operating an illegal arms network that used Instagram to coordinate weapon supplies. The suspects were apprehended after a coordinated operation that uncovered a cache of ten pistols and a quantity of heroin, both seized as evidence.
The investigation, which began after intelligence inputs about illicit firearm transactions on social media, led officers to a residential location where the suspects were believed to be storing the contraband. During the search, officers also found heroin, indicating a possible link between the arms trade and drug trafficking.
All three detainees have been taken into custody and will face charges under the Arms Act and narcotics laws. The police have not disclosed the exact location of the raid, citing ongoing investigative requirements.
Authorities said the bust underscores their commitment to curbing illegal weapon circulation and related criminal activities in the state. Further inquiries are underway to trace the broader network and any additional accomplices.
The seized firearms and narcotics have been handed over to forensic labs for detailed examination before being presented in court.
