Punjab Kings’ coaching staff has been reduced after both the head coach and assistant coach accepted positions in the Australian Big Bash League, leaving the franchise to appoint replacements before the IPL season.
Punjab Kings have lost both their head coach and assistant coach, who have accepted coaching positions in the Australian Big Bash League (BBL). The announcements came ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season, leaving the franchise with a vacant coaching structure.
The BBL is the premier Twenty‑20 competition in Australia, and the move is seen as a significant shift for the Punjab Kings, who rely on experienced coaching staff to navigate the highly competitive IPL schedule.
With the departures confirmed, the Kings’ management is now tasked with finding suitable replacements quickly to ensure the team remains competitive in the 2024 IPL campaign.
The franchise has not yet named interim coaches, but it is expected that new appointments will be announced in the coming weeks as the team prepares for the season’s opening fixtures.
