The Punjab High Court has ordered that the Enforcement Directorate’s investigation into alleged cash‑for‑transfers involving Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s office be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

The Punjab High Court has ordered that the Enforcement Directorate’s probe into an alleged cash‑for‑transfers scheme linked to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s office be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation. The decision was issued after a petition questioned the ED’s handling of the case, with the bench stating that a central agency would ensure a more impartial inquiry. Consequently, the CBI will now take charge of collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses and preparing a final report, while the ED’s role in the matter will end. No official comment has been received from the chief minister’s office or the investigating agencies at the time of reporting.
