The Punjab state administration has agreed in principle to resolve salary disparities affecting 180 Education Training Teacher (ETT) staff.

Punjab's education authorities announced that they have reached an in‑principle agreement to address the pay disparity affecting 180 Education Training Teacher (ETT) personnel. The decision was conveyed by officials from the state education department, who said the move aims to bring the remuneration of these teachers in line with comparable cadres.

The affected ETT teachers, who are employed on a contractual basis to support primary education, have long raised concerns that their salaries lag behind those of regular government teachers. The disparity has been a point of contention in recent discussions with teacher representatives.

The government indicated that a detailed review will be undertaken to determine the appropriate adjustments and that a formal implementation plan will be presented to the relevant authorities within the next few weeks. Stakeholders, including teachers' unions, are expected to be consulted before finalising the revised pay structure.
