Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann left for France on Tuesday following the Punjab High Court's approval of his overseas visit.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann embarked on an official trip to France on Tuesday after receiving clearance from the Punjab High Court. The court's approval was sought to ensure that the overseas visit complied with procedural requirements for state officials.
The delegation, which includes senior officials from the state government, is expected to engage with French counterparts on matters ranging from agricultural cooperation to cultural exchange. Sources close to the ministry said the itinerary also features meetings with French business leaders to explore investment opportunities in Punjab.
The High Court's decision came after a petition raised concerns about the timing and necessity of the trip. The bench ruled that the visit was in the public interest and that the required permissions had been duly obtained. The CM's office confirmed that the delegation will return to Punjab after a three-day schedule in Paris and Lyon.
