Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann reviewed the anti‑drug campaign in Ferozpur, announcing the appointment of 117 new Deputy Superintendents of Police to strengthen enforcement.

Punjab is intensifying its fight against drug abuse as Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced the appointment of 117 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) in a move aimed at bolstering law‑enforcement efforts across the state.

The appointments were made during a review meeting in Ferozpur, where the CM highlighted the need for a stronger police presence to curb the rising drug‑related crimes.

Speaking at the event, Mann underscored that the anti‑drug campaign must become a mass movement, urging citizens to support the police and report suspicious activities.

The new DSPs will be tasked with coordinating drug‑seizure operations, intelligence gathering and community outreach, with the goal of reducing drug trafficking and consumption in Punjab.
