Police and municipal officials say demonstrations are likely to take place at Jantar Mantar in Delhi later today, and have put security measures in place.
Delhi police have warned that crowds are likely to gather at Jantar Mantar later today for a protest organized by unnamed groups. Officers from the capital's law‑enforcement agencies have been deployed around the historic monument to maintain order and to manage traffic on nearby roads.
The administration has issued advisories urging commuters to avoid the area and to seek alternate routes, as the site is expected to become congested. Security personnel are equipped with crowd‑control gear, and a rapid‑response team is on standby in case the demonstration turns volatile.
No specific details about the cause of the protest have been released, but authorities say they are monitoring the situation closely and will update the public if the demonstration escalates or if any restrictions are imposed.
