Protesters trying to breach the security of the Chief Minister's event in Manipur were stopped by police, amid rising tensions.
On Tuesday, a group of demonstrators attempted to breach the security perimeter of a high‑profile event hosted by the Chief Minister of Manipur. The protest was reportedly aimed at expressing dissent against the state government’s policies.
Police forces deployed at the venue quickly contained the crowd, using tear gas and cordon barriers to prevent any breach. The security personnel were able to escort the protesters away without any reported injuries.
While the incident did not result in casualties, it heightened tensions in the region, with local authorities warning of potential unrest. The state government has urged calm and announced that an investigation into the incident will be conducted.
Officials have stated that they will review security protocols for future events to prevent a recurrence of such attempts.
