Protest erupts over new tube well installation near animal dispensary in Nayagaon

A group of residents assembled near the old government animal dispensary in Main Bazaar, Nayagaon, to protest the installation of a new water tube well. The protesters argued that the well would disrupt the existing infrastructure and raise concerns about water distribution.
The municipal council president and other officials arrived at the site to oversee the project, but were met with verbal abuse and hostile behavior from the demonstrators. Several participants raised slogans and demanded the work be halted until their grievances were addressed.
Local authorities have not released an official statement yet, but reports indicate that police were called to the scene to maintain order. The dispute has drawn attention to the need for better community consultation before undertaking public utility projects.
The incident underscores growing tensions in small towns over development initiatives that are perceived to overlook local interests.
