The action thriller 'Khalifa' starring Prithviraj Sukumaran has moved to six streaming services following its weak theatrical performance.
Prithviraj Sukumaran's latest action thriller, 'Khalifa', has been made available for online streaming after a disappointing run at the cinema halls. The film, which opened earlier this year, failed to attract expected footfall, prompting distributors to shift focus to digital platforms.
The movie is now live on six over‑the‑top (OTT) services, allowing audiences across India to watch it on demand. While the exact list of platforms has not been disclosed by the producers, the move is aimed at recouping revenue and reaching viewers who missed its theatrical release.
Industry observers note that such a transition is common for titles that underperform at the box office, especially in the current competitive streaming landscape. The decision underscores the growing reliance on digital distribution to extend a film's lifecycle.
The information comes from entertainment portal Sacnilk, which reported the OTT launch without providing further financial details.
