Amazon’s Prime Video has confirmed that production of the Mass Effect television series will continue even after Electronic Arts closed BioWare, the game studio behind the franchise.
Prime Video announced that its highly‑anticipated Mass Effect television adaptation remains on schedule, despite recent news that Electronic Arts has shut down BioWare, the studio that created the original video‑game series. The streaming platform reiterated its commitment to the project in a statement referenced by IGN.
Electronic Arts confirmed the closure of BioWare’s main development studio earlier this month, a move that raised questions about the future of the Mass Effect franchise across media. While the decision affects the production of new games, the TV series, which is being produced independently of the game development pipeline, is not impacted.
The series, first revealed by Prime Video in 2022, will continue to be developed by the original creative team. No new release window has been disclosed, but the platform assures fans that the storyline and casting will proceed as planned.
