President Droupadi Murmu has named six individuals as governors across India, with four senior BJP leaders assigned to key state posts.
President Droupadi Murmu issued a presidential order today appointing six new governors to serve in various Indian states. Among the appointees, four are veteran leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party, who have been allocated to high‑profile Raj Bhavans.
The selection reflects the central government's effort to place experienced party stalwarts in constitutional positions that oversee state administration. By assigning BJP veterans to these key governorships, the ruling party aims to reinforce its influence in the federal structure.
Political observers note that such appointments are customary for ensuring smooth coordination between the centre and the states, especially ahead of upcoming electoral cycles. The new governors are expected to assume office within the stipulated time frame, completing the transition of incumbents.
