President appoints Braj Mohan Ram as new Governor of Odisha in six-state reshuffle

The President of India announced a major reshuffle of gubernatorial posts across six states, naming Braj Mohan Ram as the new Governor of Odisha. The appointment comes as part of a coordinated effort to refresh the constitutional heads in several states.
Braj Mohan Ram, a senior Indian Administrative Service officer, has spent decades in various administrative roles at the centre and in state governments. His extensive experience in public administration is expected to guide the state's governance agenda.
The six‑state reshuffle also includes changes in five other states, reflecting the central government's intent to align state leadership with its broader policy priorities. The new governor will assume office immediately, succeeding the outgoing incumbent.
