All schools in Prayagraj were ordered to remain closed on August 18 after torrential rain caused severe waterlogging across the city. The decision aims to ensure student safety amid the adverse weather conditions.

On August 18, the district administration of Prayagraj announced the closure of all government and private schools for the day. The order was issued following continuous torrential rain that began early in the morning.

Officials cited severe waterlogging on roads and low-lying areas as the primary reason for the shutdown. Many streets were reported to be submerged, making travel hazardous for students and staff.

The decision was taken to prevent any risk of accidents or health issues arising from the flooded conditions. Parents were advised to keep children at home until normal conditions are restored.

Normal academic activities are expected to resume once the weather improves and water recedes from the affected areas. Authorities are monitoring the situation and will issue further updates if needed.
