Power cuts persist in Benaulim despite recent infrastructure upgrades

The town of Benaulim in Goa continues to experience frequent power interruptions despite a recent overhaul of its electricity infrastructure. The upgrade, aimed at modernising the distribution network and reducing downtime, was completed earlier this year. However, households and businesses report that outages remain a regular inconvenience, affecting daily activities and commercial operations.

Local authorities acknowledge the persistence of the problem and have indicated that further diagnostics are underway to identify lingering faults in the system. Engineers are reportedly inspecting transformer stations and feeder lines to pinpoint the causes of the recurring failures.

The community has called for swift remedial action, emphasizing the impact of unreliable power on essential services such as water supply, healthcare facilities, and small enterprises. Officials have assured residents that additional resources will be deployed to stabilise the supply and prevent future disruptions.
