Malappuram : Demand to declare Thirunavaya as a biological community reserve
The 36th annual conference of 'Re Ekou' demanded that Thirunavaya, which is rich in biological, bird and aquatic resources, be declared a community reserve center without any hindrance for the public and farmers. The water bodies including Bharathapuzha and Tirur River are the habitat of many migratory birds and rare plants. The conference, chaired by President Poovvathinkal Rasheed, was inaugurated by Athavanad Muhammed Kutty. Japanese researcher Sayano Iwao was the chief guest. Traditional heritage tributes and a workers' meeting were held as part of the ceremony.
