A police team sent to arrest a suspect in Manigachi, Darbhanga, was pelted with stones by villagers, breaking the vehicle’s windshield and injuring an Assistant Sub-Inspector. The suspect, Ajay Passwan, also sustained injuries while attempting to flee custody.
The police team dispatched to Manigachi village in Darbhanga district of Bihar faced a sudden mob assault by local residents. The villagers hurled stones at the police vehicle, causing the windshield to shatter.
During the confrontation, an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) sustained injuries from the stone‑throwing. The incident halted the operation to detain the accused.
The accused, identified as Ajay Passwan, was also injured while trying to escape police custody amid the chaos. He was subsequently taken into custody for medical treatment.
