Around 150 police officers raided Dausa’s Central Jail Shyalawas on Saturday, uncovering 556 g of cannabis and a mobile phone despite a 15‑foot wall and a CCTV jammer.
On Saturday, Rajasthan police launched an unannounced search operation at the Central Jail in Shyalawas, Dausa, after receiving intelligence about prohibited items inside the prison.
The raid involved roughly 150 uniformed officers, supported by canine units, who systematically inspected cells and common areas.
Despite a 15‑foot high perimeter wall and a functioning CCTV jammer that had been installed to disrupt surveillance, investigators managed to locate and confiscate 556 grams of cannabis along with a smartphone, both deemed illegal contraband.
No injuries or arrests were reported during the operation, and the seized items have been handed over to forensic labs for further analysis.
Jail officials have opened an internal inquiry to trace how the drugs and device entered the facility and to reinforce security protocols across Rajasthan’s prison network.
