Police said a cyber-fraud network shifted its base from Goa to Kolkata before setting up a fake call centre in Aliganj, Lucknow.
Police have disclosed that a cyber-fraud operation relocated its base from the coastal state of Goa to Kolkata before it established a fraudulent call centre in the Aliganj area of Lucknow.
According to the police statement, the shift in operational base preceded the setting up of the fake call centre, which was used to carry out telephonic scams.
Investigators believe the Kolkata location served as a transit point where the network regrouped before moving further into Uttar Pradesh to run the scam.
Authorities are continuing to examine the connections between the Goa, Kolkata and Aliganj sites as part of a wider crackdown on cyber fraud across the country.
