The Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Department presented the region’s heritage at the Bharat Parv cultural fair, drawing a visit from the Prime Minister.

Jammu & Kashmir’s tourism officials set up a dedicated pavilion at the Bharat Parv cultural showcase, highlighting the state’s traditional arts, crafts and performing arts. The display featured hand‑woven textiles, wooden handicrafts and live folk performances that aimed to attract tourists to the mountainous region.

The Prime Minister made a brief stop at the J&K pavilion, observing the exhibits and interacting with the officials overseeing the presentation. The visit underscored the central government’s support for promoting tourism in the Union Territory.

Organisers of Bharat Parv, a national festival that brings together cultural representations from across India, described the J&K showcase as one of the most vibrant stalls, reflecting the region’s rich heritage and its potential as a travel destination.

Tourism officials said the exhibition is part of a broader campaign to revive visitor numbers after pandemic‑related disruptions, and they hope the exposure will translate into increased footfall in the coming season.
