Penguin Random House India has paused the publication of Sonia Gandhi’s memoir after an editorial disagreement, stating the decision was made internally and not due to external pressure.
Penguin Random House India announced that it would not release Sonia Gandhi’s memoir in the country following an editorial review that revealed unresolved differences.
During the review, the publisher accepted some suggested changes but could not reconcile other points, leading to a stalemate.
The decision was clarified as a routine editorial outcome and not the result of outside influence, according to a statement from the publisher.
Sonia Gandhi’s team acknowledged the pause and confirmed that the book would not be available in India at this time.
The publisher remains open to revisiting the project once the editorial issues are resolved.
