Traders in Patni Bazaar have asked for a one‑month delay in the MPs Ujjain road‑widening work, but senior officials were unavailable to meet them.
The merchants of Patni Bazaar in Ujjain have formally requested a one‑month extension to the ongoing widening of the MPs Ujjain Road, citing concerns over disruption to their shops.
According to reports, the traders approached local authorities on Monday but found no senior official present to consider their plea, leading to a heated exchange.
The stalemate has deepened the row between the market community and the municipal administration, with traders warning that a rushed completion could hurt daily sales, while officials have yet to announce a revised timeline.
City officials said they will review the request and convene a meeting with senior engineers later this week, but no concrete decision has been communicated so far.
