The Badi Patan Devi temple in Patna, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, sees a massive influx of devotees during Navratri 2026.
Patna’s historic Badi Patan Devi temple, recognised as one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, has become the focal point of worship during this year’s Shardiya Navratri. Situated in the heart of Bihar’s capital, the shrine draws an overwhelming number of pilgrims who come to offer prayers to the goddess Durga.
During the nine‑day festival, the temple premises are filled with devotees lining up for darshan, participating in special puja ceremonies and chanting traditional hymns. Temporary arrangements such as additional security, crowd‑control barriers and extended opening hours have been put in place to manage the surge.
Local authorities report that the footfall reaches its peak on the eighth and ninth days of Navratri, when families from across the state and neighboring regions travel to Patna specifically for the occasion. The event underscores the temple’s enduring religious significance and its role as a major cultural gathering in eastern India.
