In Patna, students protesting over the handling of the Bihar Dargah exam broke a police‑set barricade, prompting authorities to use batons.
On a recent day in Patna, a gathering of students demanding changes in the conduct of the Bihar Dargah exam turned violent when they broke a barricade erected by police. The protest, which had been organized since morning, escalated as the crowd pushed through the barrier. Police responded by striking the demonstrators with batons, creating a chaotic scene.
The authorities warned that they would use force to disperse the protest if necessary. The incident reflects growing frustration among exam candidates over the administration of the Dargah examination, a key entry test for many aspiring civil servants.
While the police have not released a detailed statement, the use of batons indicates that the situation was deemed a serious public disturbance. The incident has drawn attention to the broader debate over exam conduct and student rights in Bihar.
The protest highlights the tension between student groups and state law enforcement, with both sides citing concerns over safety and procedural fairness.
