The Patna Municipal Corporation’s mayor has called a standing‑committee meeting today, following a protest by municipal staff over pending demands.
Patna – The mayor of Patna Municipal Corporation convened a standing‑committee meeting today to address issues raised by municipal employees. The gathering comes a day after municipal workers staged a demonstration demanding the settlement of long‑pending grievances.
The protest, which took place outside the corporation’s headquarters, highlighted concerns over salary arrears and infrastructural delays. While the demonstration remained peaceful, it underscored growing frustration among city staff.
In response, the mayor announced the meeting to review the pending demands and to outline steps for resolution. Officials expect the committee to deliberate on actionable measures and report back to the mayor’s office within the week.
The council’s agenda includes reviewing budget allocations, pending infrastructure projects, and employee welfare schemes. No further details on the meeting’s outcomes have been released at this time.
