Patna Hosts Ravana Vad Ceremony on Vijayadashami with CM Samrat Chaudhary

On Vijayadashami, Patna’s Gandhi Maidan witnessed a Ravana Vad ceremony attended by CM Samrat Chaudhary, Governor Syed Ata Hassanain and Nagaland Governor Nandakishor Yadav.
On Monday, 24th September, the Gandhi Maidan in Patna became the focal point of the annual Ravana Vad ceremony, a ritual that marks the triumph of good over evil during the Ram Navami celebrations.
The event was graced by several high‑profile dignitaries, including Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Governor Syed Ata Hassanain and Nagaland Governor Nandakishor Yadav. They collectively performed the Aarti for Lord Shri Ram, symbolising unity and devotion across the state.
The ceremony featured a procession of decorated effigies of Ravana, followed by a symbolic burning that drew large crowds of devotees and tourists. Cultural performances, including folk dances and devotional music, punctuated the proceedings.
Local authorities ensured crowd control and security, while the event was streamed live on state television, allowing residents who could not attend to witness the festivities from home.
